‘family horror x good times’ is an extensive 15 tracks compilation, where the leipzig label reflects on an intense and impassioned decade. kann asked close friends and long time idols to play their part to the full to complete the third edition of the label’s family horror compilation series. the outcome is a clear snapshot of the musical inclinations of the three label founders, sevensol & map.ache (aka manamana) and bender, encapsulating an idiosyncratic, modern house sound that demands an emotional response. the compilation comes rounded off by a booklet of photographs from ria aka lux which just like the music captures some of the beautiful ‘good times’ from this very special period, this time on paper.

deep dreamy and melancholic techno tracks by tserg, 25-year-old producer from, singapore. written over a period of 4 months, forgotten times is about the dreams we once had and forgot, the present moments that we forget to cherish and the ideals we used to believe and fight for but no longer do so. the intro is a hopeful track for the time when we started to dream. by the time we reach the outro, these memories have become fragmented and we struggle to even remember them. thankfully, time travel has always been possible in our minds when we think about the past or future. this transmat like production by tserg brings us from the future to the past in forgotten times but the listener is free to travel in whichever direction they want. limited to 150 copies.

optimo music don’t generally do limited edition releases but when the golden filter did these extra mixes of “end of times”, the a1 track off their recent ep we thought they were too good to remain in the digital domain so have pressed up a small run of 12” singles aimed specifically at djs. the original single version is a future synth classic. these new dub versions take it to the dancefloor and have been tried and tested around the world over the last few months. they are considerably extended, dubbed out and add extra dynamics & ecstatic synth power with hints of the original vocal. there is a slo mo version at 103 bpm and a faster version at 118bpm which means the track should work any time from warm up to peak set. there is also a drone-apella version included too.

one for the deejays! after a previous collaboration for ft s vibe 3 compilation, dawit eklund (of the outstanding 1432r crew) and max d (in dolo percussion mode) join forces for a proper 12- and come catchy, concrete, and correct. . -rise- rotates around and around, dawit flexing on vocals and earworm keys while dolo locks in, and -wise- goes more for the jugular, wild organs and swinging perc over hooky vox and presssssure. oof!

casino times continue on their crusade into the speakers of earth s hottest dancing spots with the fourth edition of the casino edits series. for the a-side, the duo encapsulate the energy that has made the previous records in the series so memorable this time by taking the cosmic sounds of a space disco favourite and reconstructing it into a punchy, euphoric, electronic symphony. the b-side sees the bpm s drop and the concepts become more left-of-centre. the b1, a cut-up uk grunge head nodder, features gritty guitars, a sludgy bassline and a pulsating synth lead. whilst on the b2, a well-loved italo essential is reincarnated as a dramatic piece of sequenced bliss.

third root is a central texas hip-hop collaborative that focuses on black and brown overlapping culture and identity. the group consists of charles peters (easy lee), marco cervantes (mexican stepgrandfather), and dj chicken george (djcg). peters is an accomplished poet and educator, cervantes is a producer and ph.d. who teaches at the university of texas at san antonio, and djcg is a world-renowned dj, musicologist, designer & jazztronica! peddler. their latest album, libertad, produced entirely by grammy award winner adrian quesada (grupo fantasma, brownout, echocentrics, spanish gold), reflects today’s current mobilization among black and brown communities in the face of debilitating cycles of police brutality, ?awed educational systems, privately owned prisons and detainment centers, corporately owned politicians, and racist judicial systems. the album delivers a mix of social justice and jam session with each song designed to raise questions, incite discussion, and promote healing and liberation. “reflection of the times” and “soul force” are the leading singles from libertad.

shore is a vibraphonist and composer based in brooklyn. eamon harkin and justin carter from mister saturday night met him through nyc music institution, nublu, where he worked with the legendary jazz maestro butch morris and sex mob and tom waits drummer kenny wollesen. at the very first planetarium listening session, where eamon and justin blend records into live performances for people sprawled on the floor of a loft for six hours, one of justin s friends leaned over to him and asked, -what is this record? it s amazing.- it wasn t a record. it was shore, playing a hundred times in the corner of the room.

jerome derradjis past due records is proud to announce the first part in a reissue series of lee moore’s rarest and meanest boogie funk tracks, originally produced for his labels score records and lm records, circa 1981-85. alien changing times was produced by lee moore and paul zaleski for score records out of memphis. double sided 12inch, it is one of these future funk instrumentals that will light a fire on any dance floor. never reissued before today remastered. rarer than rare and so good!

henry thomas low key 45 on raptown records has until now been a featured in the record boxes of deep boogie and two step dj s who know the deal, it s now time for it to spread its fm synth wings to bigger dancefloors. what more do you want, a solid two sider that only slipped through ebay a few times on the cheap as people did not know it, managed to bag one of those myself and with some help from a good friend track henry down, alive, well and looking forward to his music getting a revival.

celebrating the forth coming hard times cd compilation, the label dig deep into the vaults to re-release two monster tracks by roger sanchez & todd terry re-mastered & reissued on a quality pressing for 2017.
